Events
In our house, we organize events to enrich cultural life, scientific activity and the society. Our events have generally educating character and are open to everybody who is interested in the topic.
Korraldame oma majas üritusi, mis rikastavad Eesti kultuurielu, teadustegevust ja ühiskondlikke suhteid. Üritused on üldharivad ning oodatud on kõik, kes on vastavast üritusest huvitatud.
Projects in Domus Dorpatensis
Our
aim is to find good ideas, to introduce them to the public, disseminate them
and – by involving partners from all three sectors – turn them into reality.
Our projects can be divided into two categories:
1. Projects that create discussion in society
Examples for this kind of projects are our series “Meet the world” and “People meet people”, movie evenings, single events, the Estonian week of civil society, TEDxTartu conferences and other projects that reach many people – as participants in our events, with the help of television or internet or by extensive media coverage.
With these events, we would like to offer a platform where everybody can exchange experiences and ideas, collect new information and start or develop discussions between representatives of different disciplines.
2. Projects that turn good ideas into reality
We try to move with our projects from discussion to real, long-term, positive changes in society. As examples for this type of projects, we could name the projects “Participation of young people in decision-making processes on local level”, “Young leaders”, “Tolerant Tartu” and NGOs’ manifesto.
We would like to create the basis for sustainable networks which will serve the society also in the future.
